Summary

The Road to Home is the story of the friendship that develops between two women -- a friendship that sees them asking questions of themselves, uncovering new and sometimes uncomfortable personal truths and learning to trust their faith as well as each other. Monica's painful discoery that Ella is dying and that her sons will soon be left without a home leaves her believing that her own life was spared for a reason. THE ROAD TO HOME portrays the search for a life of purpose and is a tribute to the bonds women share no matter their skin color.

Author Biography

Vanessa Del Fabbro was born in South Africa in 1968. After majoring in English literature and communications, she worked in print and radio journalism, then spent a year in England before coming to the United States in 1995. She has lived in St. Louis, Missouri, and Montgomery, Alabama, and now makes her home in Houston, Texas, with her husband and daughter. As the mother of a three-year-old, she writes whenever she can find time, usually when Emma takes her nap and late at night. She loves long walks, Florida Panhandle beaches in winter, botanical gardens, meeting people from different cultures, reading and playing with Emma. She misses her family in South Africa, the low-humidity days of her hometown, Johannesburg, and her countrymen's easy humor that mixes languages with unique flair. At present, she is working on a sequel to The Road To Home. You can write to her at vanessadelfabbro@hotmail.com.
