Author Biography

Bel Olid (Mataró, 1977) es escritora, traductora y profesora de literatura y escritura. Mantiene una intensa actividad como traductora al catalán y, en menor medida, también en castellano, principalmente de obras de literatura infantil. Ha traducido del alemán, el inglés, el francés, el italiano y el castellano. Como autora se da a conocer en 2010 gracias al Premio Documenta por la novela Una tierra solitaria, y al Premio Rovelló de ensayo por el trabajo Las heroínas contraatacan. Modelos literarios contra el universal masculino a la literatura infantil y juvenil.

Bel Olid (Mataró, 1977) is a writer, translator and professor of literature and writing. She maintains an intense activity as a translator into Catalan and, to a lesser extent, also into Spanish, mainly of works of children's literature. She has translated from German, English, French, Italian and Spanish. As the author, she became known in 2010 thanks to the Documenta Award for the novel Una tierra solitaria, and the Rovelló Essay Award for her work Las heroines contraatacan. Literary models against the universal masculine to children's and young people's literature.
