Author Biography
Writer and photographer Neil Edward Schlecht first travelled to the Balearic Islands in the mid-1990s, while living and working in Barcelona. He was smitten by Mallorca's northwest coast—enough to ask his wife to marry him in a particularly magical spot there on a third trip to the island. He is equally enamoured of the quieter pleasures of Mallorca's smaller sister, Menorca, and his beloved Labrador Uisce hailed from a farm on Ibiza. Now living in New York City, Neil is the author of more than a dozen travel guides to places around the globe, including Frommer's Barcelona Day by Day, Frommer's Peru, and Frommer's Buenos Aires Day by Day, as well as articles on food and wine, tennis, contemporary art and antiques.
