This program targets students with reading levels of 5-8 and delivers instruction in the GED content areas to prepare learners to move up into GED preparation. The pre- and post-tests in each satellite book help students decide which skills need the most work and allow them to assess mastery of each subject area. Complete answer keys supply answers and explanations for all the exercises and activities within the text and lots of visual aids provide detailed practice and instruction. A new feature of Contemporary's PRE-GED SATELLITE PROGRAM is the addition of timed readings. Since the GED exam is time-based, students will need to learn how to absorb information within allotted time specifications as well as improve reading speed and promote reading comprehension.UsingLanguage Arts, Reading, students will begin their study toward a GED by using skill levels based on BLOOM'S TAXONOMY. Poetry, drama, and fiction are addressed with explanations and activities. REAL-LIFE BUSINESS AND PRACTICAL DOCUMENTS are used so students can apply what they've learned to their lives. The pre- and post-tests provide students with GED style practice questions to evaluate strengths and weaknesses. Timed readings help to improve reading skills and comprehension.
