Summary

This work accompanies the largest exhibition of Peruvian artifacts ever to travel to the United States. Spanning 3,000 years of history, the exhibition includes more than 300 artifacts that represent 35 ancient cultures from across Peru. Featured are gold and silver ceremonial objects; richly decorated and sculpted ceramics; delicate yet still vibrant textiles, some more than 1,000 years old; stone carvings; weapons; human skulls showing evidence of brain surgery; and three mummies.
